The Firm
Guulshan Roy Architects was established in 1999 by Ar. Guulshan Roy in Mangalore. The studio has evolved from a 1-architect-1-assistant practice into a multi-disciplinary firm. The studio currently has a team of 10 designers working on a mixed portfolio of residential, commercial, institutional and interior projects.
Hand-in-hand with Mangalore’s growth, GRA has blossomed into Mangalore’s leader in interior and architectural solutions, undertaking a wide range of projects that have transformed the city’s landscape.
Approach
The firm’s approach towards architecture is contextual, innovative and draws parallels from the prevailing trends in our field. Materials and modern technology has played a significant role in their projects.
GRA’s conceptual explorations stem from the context of site and deep rooted traditions of its surroundings; drawing influences from the tropical context to integrate nature and landscape. The firm also believes that design needs to evolve with the ever developing lifestyle, trends, materials and technology, which shapes their design process.
