About
The underlying concept of this residence was to provide a central courtyard that serve as the principal gathering point. The styles of vernacular architecture are borrowed from the surrounding village of Kashipatna, rooting the built to its surrounding. Yet, the succession of spatial arrangement follows a contemporary lifestyle suited to the present. The verandah or ‘the in-between’ that is maintained around the house, creating a dialogue between the built and the in-built, that is prevalent in this region.
